About Let's Get HAI
HAI is a multi-collateral stablecoin built on Optimism, forked from the RAI model. It uses a redemption rate mechanism rather than a hard peg to maintain stability. HAI is governed by the Let's Get HAI community.
HAI is a multi-collateral decentralised stablecoin deployed on Optimism, built as a fork of Reflexer's RAI. The project was initiated by the Reflexer community and developed by DeFi Wonderland with support from SpankChain and Number Group. HAI launched on Optimism mainnet in early 2024 with an airdrop for early participants.
Mechanism
Like RAI, HAI uses a PID (proportional–integral–derivative) controller to adjust a redemption rate rather than hard-pegging to $1. However, HAI's initial price was set to $1 for accessibility. Users open over-collateralised debt positions (CDPs, called "safes") to mint HAI; supported collateral includes ETH, wstETH, rETH, OP, and RAI. The PID controller raises or lowers the redemption rate to incentivise HAI holders and minters to push the market price back toward the redemption price.
