About Angle USDA
USDA is a USD-pegged stablecoin issued by Angle Protocol. It is backed by a diversified set of reserves including US Treasuries and other yield-generating assets. USDA is part of the Angle Protocol ecosystem alongside EURA and can be staked as stUSD to earn native USD yield.
Angle Protocol issued USDA as a USD-pegged stablecoin fully collateralised by a basket of yield-generating real-world assets (RWAs) and DeFi assets. USDA is part of the Angle ecosystem alongside EURA, Angle's euro stablecoin.
Mechanism
USDA's stability relies on Angle's proprietary Price Stability Module, called the Transmuter, which manages a diversified reserve of US Treasury bills, tokenised T-bills, and DeFi yield-bearing assets. The Transmuter allows holders to redeem USDA for any of the protocol's collateral assets at any time. Yield from the reserve is passed through to stUSD holders — a non-rebasing ERC-20 token whose exchange rate against USDA increases over time.
USDA was designed to boost on-chain forex efficiency by functioning as the primary liquidity layer in Angle's cross-currency stablecoin ecosystem, connecting USD and EUR on-chain liquidity.
Status
Angle Protocol is winding down USDA (and EURA). Following a community governance vote (AIP-112), holders can redeem USDA for USDC at a 1:1 ratio via the Angle App on Ethereum until 1 March 2027. After the redemption period, remaining reserves will be airdropped proportionally to unredeemed holders via Merkl. Angle is pivoting to focus on its DeFi incentives platform, Merkl. The wind-down was announced on 4 March 2026.
