Trading strategy

Sentiment directional trading of Bitcoin (abbreviated below as BTC) involves generating (short-term/long-term) predictions of its future prices through datasets related to the general sentiment of market participants (bullish / bearish), which are often highly correlated to future change in prices.

The main essence of our directional trading strategy involves the use of sentiment factors and taking long and short positions. We utilize simple and effective indicators that are not ordinary price-volume data. For each sentiment factor, we use a trend-based model that relies on Bollinger bands and/or rolling linear regression. We would ignore the signal if any two factors give opposing signals (extremely rare).On the other hand, if two or more factors give the same signal, then the entry leverage would be scaled by the number of factors giving the signal.

Risk management

Stop-loss percentage is set at 2% of the margin balance

50% of the position size would be closed when we achieve a profit of 2% and 3.5% respectively.
