The vault holds HYPE (and potentially BTC) spot and shorts the matching perpetual in equal quantity, so price moves cancel out and the return comes from the funding paid by perp longs. The position runs on a Hyperliquid portfolio margin account: USDC is borrowed against the spot collateral to scale the trade, and a rebalancing keeps leverage within a set range as prices move. One venue, one structure, held for the long run.
Main risks: negative funding periods, Hyperliquid venue and smart-contract risk, USDC borrow availability and rates, liquidation if rebalancing fails in a sharp move.
